Luanda - Japan will soon start granting concessional credits to Angola, in the light of the economic cooperation existing between the two countries.
This was said by Angolan Finance minister, Carlos Lopes, at the end of a meeting with the Japanese Foreign Affairs minister, Osamu Fujimura.
According to the Angolan Government official, in order to implement the granting, technical missions from the two countries will work on the design of the model.
In addition, he added, technical commissions from both countries will also select priority projects for the funding.
Regarding reciprocal protection of investments, the Finance minister said the Angola Foreign Ministry has been working on the issue, adding the process is going through concerned internal administrative procedures.
In his turn, the Japanese Foreign minister, Osamu Fujimura, said Angola is one of the few countries that recorded a fast recovery from the world financial and economic crisis, which inspires trust to his country’s investors.
He said the Angola mission follows the great interest the Japanese private sector has to invest in the Angolan market, and his Government is using the instruments available to support the initiative.
The mission that arrived in Luanda on Sunday, includes 25 representatives of the Japanese private sector, and the vice minister of Commerce and Industry.
On Monday morning, the delegation headed by Osamu Fujimura met with Angolan secretary of State for Cooperation, Exalgina Gambôa, having discussed, among various other issues, the need for the signing of a reciprocal investment protection accord until November this year.
