Luanda – Three fuel storage containers were installed along the 424 kilometres of the Luanda Railway (CFL) by the National Oil Company (Sonangol), to facilitate transportation and reduce shortage in the region, Angop learned.
The information was released Friday in Luanda by Sonangol Storage official, Alda da Silva.
According to the source, in the first phase, 240,000 litres of petrol and diesel will be transported to the containers, situated in the localities of Dondo, Lucala (Kwanza Norte) and Malanje.
The total storage capacity of the base is 821,000 litres.
Some drivers commenting on the issue told Angop the restart of operation of the train will help reduce cost of fuels and derivatives and secure the stocks.
The railway connection between Luanda and Malanje was restored on Monday, with a Luanda CFL experimental trip, after 18 years of interruption due to the armed conflict that ravaged the country for decades.
