Luanda – The exports from Argentina to Angola in 2009 reached USD 400 million, said the Argentina ambassador to Angola, Juan Agustín Caballero.
Speaking to Angop, Juan Agustín Caballero said that this amount is a result of exports of varied products ranging from food to machines.
The ambassador did not advance Angolan exports to his country because he does not have the exact number.
The diplomat said that his government and companies are interested to boost a partnership with Angola in various areas.
To prove that he said that in there was held in 2009 a meeting of the mixed commission between Angola and Argentina in which both countries expressed interest to increase in several areas of cooperation.
He added that recently a delegation of Angolan businessmen led by the state secretary for Industry, Kiala Gabriel met Argentina businessmen and discussed the possibility to increase cooperation and find new areas of interest.
Angola has a big potential in agriculture and Argentina has the interest to help with technology, equipments and train Angolans to assist in the development of the country, said the diplomat.
Argentina has huge natural resources and an agriculture sector oriented to exports and diversified industry. The country is a member of G20, is the 31 largest GDP in the world and the 23 largest in power of purchase.
