Luanda– The angolan government today approved the appointment of the new board of directors of the railways company of Luanda, Benguela and Mocamedes, of the National Civil Aviation Company (ENANA-EP), the Angolan Airline (TAAG-EP) and of the Sea ports
of Namibe, Lobito and Luanda.
The government appointed Osvaldo Lobo do Nascimento as CEO of the Luanda Railway and Abel António Lopes, João do Nascimento Francisco, Rufino Manuel da Conceição Jr and Diogo de Jesus as members of the board.
For the Mocamedes Railway the government appointed Daniel Quipaxe (CEO), Lima Oliveira, Tchilabo Teodoro, Adriano Silva and Joaquim Matias da Silva and for the Benguela Railway the government appointed Jose Carlos Gomes (CEO) Frederico Sequeira Benedito, Luís Teixeira, Carlos dos Santos Braz and Cristiano de Almeida.
Manuel Ferreira de Ceita was appointed CEO of the National Civil Aviation Company (ENANA) and Dulce Manuel, Diógenes Manuel Silvestre da Silva, Miguel Domingos Gabriel, Maria Engrácia Sala Paredes and Guilherme Tonnet as directors.
The new CEO of the angolan airline (TAAG-EP) is Antonio Luis Pimentel de Araujo and Joaquim Teixeira da Cunha, Adriano António Neto de Carvalho, Efigénia da Purificação da Silva José Martins, Luís Eduardo dos Santos, Rui Paulo de Andrade Teles Carreira,
Domingos Sebastião, Arlindo de Sousa e Silva e Lourenço Manuel Gomes Neto are the board members.
For the port of Namibe-EP the goverment nominated Joaquim Miguel Domingos Neto (CEO) and Conceição Francisco Benza, Pedro Kahamba, Zoa Diamonica, António Samuel, Hélder Claudino Albuquerque e David Hache as board members while new managers of the port of Lobito are Bento da Conceição da Paixão dos Santos (CEO) assisted by Pedro Joaquim, Maria da Conceição, Lisander Reis Borges, Anapaz de Jesus Neto, Francisca da Cruz e António Fonseca de Vasconcelos as directors.
Francisco Venancio is the new CEO of the port of Luanda to be assisted by José da Rocha Sardinha de Castro, Rui Mendonça da Silva, Manuel Pascoal Gabriel Paz, Sansão Domingos Pitra, Justino José Fernandes and João Manuel de Oliveira Barradas.
The nomination of the new boards is under the program to reform the transport sector, aimed to recover the main railways, to establish rules for the use of the rail infrastructures and adjust the statutes of the companies to the legal framework of the law of public companies.
Therefore the statute for the reform and institutional model for the railway sector, the regulation of the public service for railway transports and the organic statute of the National Railways Institute were already approved by presidential decree.
The cabinet meeting chaired by president Jose Eduardo dos Santos also approved the upgrade of the Luanda, Benguela and Mocamedes Railways to public enterprises.
