Luanda – The Angolan Banks Association (ABANC) has been an important partner of the government in the outlining of policies and measures in the exchange rate and monetary fields for the development of the national financial system, angolan Secretary of State for Economic Coordination said Friday.
Addressing the swearing in ceremony of ABANC new social organs, Job Graça said that through this strategic partnership between the Angolan government and ABANC enabled the country to become the third banking centre of the continent after South African and Nigeria.
As an example, the official recalled that between the period of 2006 and 2008, the banking assets has risen an average rate of 46%, from nearly USD 17.000 million to USD 35.000 million.
Angolan Banks Association was established on 31December 1998 and it controls now 20 banks.
