Luanda - The Members of Parliament on Friday, in Luanda, praised the legislative initiative of the Government on the Administrative Probity Law, judging by its relevance to the regulation of the management of public funds.
This feeling was expressed during the debate on the Bill, prior to its adoption unanimously on the designation of Public Probity Law, proposed by Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Regiments of the State Administration and Local Government, and of Mandates, Ethics and Parliamentary Decorum.
The bill, presented by the minister of State and Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic, Carlos Feijo, received favorable reference of the MPs, who reinforced the urgency to put an end to bad practices in management of public assets.
The prevention, action and punishment are in accordance with the three moments of the Public Probity Law, consisting of 45 articles. The diploma aims to rescue morality and fairness in management within the agenda of global public management reform to be made by the executive of Angola.
The ninth session of the National Assembly, chaired by the speaker Antonio Paulo Kassoma, also adopted unanimously, the Organic Act of Parliament sets a new framework for their internal structures.
The discussion of the Annual Report of the Ombudsman, for fiscal year 2008, was referred to a forthcoming meeting, due to the absence of the Ombudsman Paulo Tchipilica, for timing reasons.
