Lumbamba firm committed to livestock activity

Luanda - Lumbamba SA company imported in 2009 from Namibia 1,370 cattle and 380 goats to support the development of livestock in southern Cunene province, informed the president of entrepreneurial organisation, Francisco Abilio Lumbamba.

 
Speaking Wednesday to Angop, the manager said that the goal is to achieve 4,060 cattle for reproduction of species, by 2014. The project will provide 50 jobs.

 
In terms of agriculture, he said that five hectares for the farming of corn and beans is being prepared from next year.


According to him, the production of corn will be funded by Development Bank of Angola (BDA), at an amount worth USD 1.6 million and will employ 200 workers.


Meanwhile, the company imported last year from Japan 170 new cars which are being marketed in Cunene, Luanda and Lubango (Huila), whose imports have reached USD 3 million.
