Over 500 million Usd saved with quick clearance in the port of Luanda

Luanda - Angola has saved between 500 million and one billion usdollars by reducing, since last year, the clearance time of goods in the port of Luanda to 10 to 15 days, the transport minister; Augusto da Silva Tomás, revealed today.

According to the minister, the clearance process use to be willfully extended to 90 days, harming the economy and the importers were forced to pay expensive daily rates for a stay of the goods in the port area.

Addressing a meeting of the national shipper council for the presentation of the national freight stock exchange, the minister stressed the need for courage and coherence in the implementation of the government decisions benefiting the community.
