Caxito – The minister of agriculture, rural development and fisheries, Pedro Canga, handed over today ten fishing boats and other fishing material to the fishermen of one cooperative in Ulua, northern Bengo province.
During his working visit to Bengo province the minister also visited a cassava plantation and delivered agriculture tools and foodstuffs to peasants in Kussanguluka, Ùcua commune, 45 miles north of Caxito, the province capital.
The minister pledged to support the 87 member strong peasant association with a truck for the outflow and marketing of their products.
He also pledged the ministry support to different agriculture and fishing cooperatives with the aim to increase production and improve living standards of the locals.
In Bengo province, the agriculture minister met governor João Miranda and visited the facilities of the future agriculture college, in Icolo e Bengo, with a capacity for 1,100 studants.
