Huambo
Angola to have biosphere conservation centre

Huambo – A biosphere conservation centre is being created in the country’s northern Cabinda Province, so as to enable Angola to produce carbon in the future and export it to other countries.

This was said to ANGOP on Friday, in the central Huambo Province, by the deputy minister of Agriculture for forests, André de Jesus Moda, who added that this centre will also serve for the protection and conservation of plants facing extinction in the Angolan flora.

The official, who is in Huambo Province to preside the main event of the World Forest and Tree Day, to be marked on March 21, said that the project of creating the referred centre is at an advanced stage.

The World Forest and Tree Day was established by the UN in 1872.
