Fashion Business Angola gathers designers, businessmen for four days


Luanda – Scheduled kick off on Thursday the Fashion Business Angola, the biggest fashion event in Africa to be held in the Angola capital, Luanda will bring together on 9-12 December over 35 fashion designers and 60 models from Africa, Europe and America in a symbiosis with businessmen.


The event, to be produced by the organizer of Face of Africa the South African Jan Malan, aims to promote the potential of clothing sector in Angola the Angolan designers and their creation as well as the commercial exchange of goods and services between African countries increasing its expression around the world.


Countries like South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Nigeria, Botswana, Egypt, Spain, Portugal and Brazil beside the host will be represented by more than 15 fashion designers that confirmed attendance at this event that will create, draw and manufacture products capable of international competition.


At least 10,000 Kwanza is the monetary value that people should pay for access on the first day to visit the stands of the pavilion of anthropology, luxuries area, the pavilion of cosmetics beauty, fashion pavilion and watch live fashion show with renowned models.


Avelino Nascimento, Tina Souvenir, Nadir Tati, Dina Simão, Lucrécia Moreira, Liseth Pote and Elisabeth Santos are some of the Angolan designers that will represent Angola among more than 35 international designers.


According to Matos Cardoso, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luanda International Fair (FIL) the event is not a fashion show but an opportunity for participants to address problems inherent to the domestic industry of textiles clothing accessories and cosmetics.


This first edition of Fashion Business Angola is co-produced by the Luanda International Fair, Ministry of Geology and Mines and Industry. Over four days there will be held alongside the exhibition, seminars, lectures and workshops on topics relating to issues of fashion.
