Luanda – The Angolan minister of Geology, Mining and Industry Joaquim David Tuesday in Luanda stressed the country’s commitment to diversified industry in the coming days, with capacity to respond to domestic and foreign market’s needs.
According to the minister, the country will have industry units, like that of beverage manufacturing companies of Bom Jesus (Cobeje), which has already turned into a national symbol, with export capacity.
Joaquim David was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the new "Cuca" beer production line which coincides with 35 years of celebrations of National Independence.
To reach this goal, diversified production, the government has been working on the sector of building materials (cement and pottery), said the minister.
The minister also noted that the government’s effort is also centred on structuring industry, such as the exploration project of liquefied gas in Soyo district, northern Zaire province, to allow the re-launch of petrochemical industry for production of fertilisers, said the minister.
He noted that at this moment the country is working toward the use of Bauxite for aluminium refinery and manufacturing.
Joaquim David also added that the government has approved enormous mining and metallurgical industry projects that will enable the re-launch of Cassinga iron mining, Huila and copper in the country's northern province of Uíge.
