Farmers get USD 350 million loan

Luanda – A credit for agriculture, estimated at USD 350 million, approved in 2009 by the Government for small and medium producers, as well as associations and agro-livestock cooperatives, will be made available to beneficiaries on time," said Wednesday in Luanda, an official source. 


 
The availability of the loan will occur as soon as is set up the Steering Committees to be integrated by Unaca-Confederation, agricultural development stations and provincial institutions, according to the chairperson of the body, Paul Uime. 


 
Speaking on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Unaca-Confederation of Associations of Peasants and Agro-Livestock Cooperatives of Angola, to be marked on 6th February, the official said that the credit will be extended to peasants of the villages. 


 
To be managed by the Savings and Credit Bank (BPC) and the New Bank the USD 350 million covers two types of short-term financing.
