Caluquembe – A branch of BIC bank was inaugurated on Thursday in the town of Caluquembe, Huila province, bringing to seven the number of branches of the bank within the region.
The inauguration was chaired by the provincial governor, Isaac Maria dos Anjos, and it is part of the 49th anniversary celebrations of the beginning of armed struggle, whose provincial political act happened in that area.
The construction of BIC branch lasted three months and cost over USD 155,000.
On the occasion, the chairperson of the administration council of BIC, Fernando Teles said that the opening of the branch in the city has as strategic objective to finance agricultural activity in the region, according to the existing potential in the region.
In his turn, Isaac dos Anjos, thanked the management of the bank for opening a branch in the province, which will boost the development of the locality.
This Friday, the governor inaugurated in the commune of Capelongo, municipality of Matala, another BIC branch.
With the opening of these branches, BIC brings over 117 banks across the country.
