Luanda - Car traders on Wednesday here considered Luanda Port as important for national and international development, mainly for East and Central Africa and suggested improvement in clearance of goods.
Asked by ANGOP on the importance of the mentioned port for the development of the economy, they said that it is relevant to regulate with objectivity the development of the economy.
The citizen Alfredo Manuel acknowledged the efforts made by the Angolan government in implementing policies capable of seeking for solutions for the country's rapid development and its economic stability, although he reaffirmed that there is much more to be done to reach this goal.
On his turn, Josefino Candengue spoke about the importance of integrating the ports, mainly the Luanda one, in the chain of global supply, to watch out for the impact of global warming under the maritime traffic, as well as in management of matters of safety, health and environment in ports.
Madalena Figueira, a trader and student has considered the ports as fundamental infrastructures for the development of the economy, as it gives a support to the industry sector, both in oil industry and the cement one.
In her opinion, ports have a strategic importance as they facilitate the transportation of fishing production, function as mineral quays and make a link with railways firms, thus providing a greater vision of the growth and economic development of regions and their economies.
