Luanda– The private investment project called “SLN – Fábrica de Cimento e Clinker de Benguela”, approved Wednesday in
Luanda by the Cabinet Council, is estimated at Usd 240 million.
The promoters of the project are SLN-International, SGPS S.A (Portuguese company), Tecnoimóvel Limitada (Angolan company) and the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) Social Security Provident Fund, says a communique released at the end of the Cabinet session.
Based in central Benguela province, the “SLN-Benguela Cement and Clinker Factory” will be implemented in five years time and comprises a local manpower training programme and creation of 240 direct jobs, 210 of which for Angolans.
On the other hand, the Government appointed the Board of Administration of the Institute for the Public Business Sector, comprising João Boa Francisco Quipipa, as chairman and Sebastião de Sousa Santos Júnior and Loydiana Vieira Dias dos Santos Cardoso, as administrators for a three years term.
The Cabinet Council was informed on the report on the activity of the State Inspection Department in 2008 and another on the progress so far achieved in the implementation of the “Water for All” programme in the first half of 2009.
The Government also learned of the report on the activity carried out by the Inter-ministerial Commission for Energetic Security and of one on the process of awarding of internal scholarships for the 2009 period.
