Luanda – The Ministry of Agriculture will hold from August 05 to 07 August in capital of northern Uige province its 33rd consultative council, in which participants will assess the activity of the sector and the preparation of the 2009/2010 farming campaign.
According to a communiqué made available to ANGOP this Monday, the meeting will analyse issues such as coffee agrarian research programmes, mechanised preparation of lands, rehabilitation and management of irrigated perimeters.
The document refers that they will also analyse matters concerning programmes to fight desertification, agricultural production, animal health, public veterinary health and others.
At the meeting, to be presided over by the Angolan minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Canga, the participants will be clarified on the preparations of the 26th FAO Regional Conference for Africa, expected to take place next year in Luanda, as well as on the programme of funding associations of small and medium-scale business and package of agro-industrial projects of great socio-economic impact.
The event will be attended by national and provincial directors of the sector and other invited guests.
