Ondjiva - Veterinary services staff from Huíla, Namibe and Cunene provinces are participating since Tuesday, in Ondjiva City, in a seminar on epidemiologic disease vigilance to prevent rabies, swine and bird flu, aimed at transmitting to participants basic knowledge on early detection of suspect cases.

According to the seminar lecturer, connected to the technical commission of flu prevention, João Mendes de Carvalho, the seminar is happening nationwide simultaneously, through regional teams, with a fundamental objective of training staff for quick recognition of illness, as well as acquiring capacity for collection and sending of samples to laboratories.

He informed that for five days participants will be trained on issues related to transmission, methods of contamination, symptoms, consequences and diagnosis of swine and bird flu, as well as rabies.
