Japanese ambassador satisfied with Canjala peasants performance

          
Lobito - Japanese ambassador to Angola, Kazuhiko Koshikakwa, over the weekend expressed his satisfaction at the good use being made of the irrigation waters, in Canjala commune,  central Benguela Province, rehabilitated through the agency of international co-operation of Japan, ANGOP has learnt.


During a meeting with the local community, the diplomat was informed that about 500 families have developed agricultural activities without constraints, through the irrigation canal that has 25 kilometres.


Pedro Ferreira Neto, co-ordinator of the management commission of the irrigation project, informed that due to the work, the local association of peasants harvested over the last days 50 tons of beans and another amount of cassava, onions, cabbages and  spring greens.


On his turn, the ambassador said he has noticed that the Angolan people are hard workers and that the armed conflict hindered the social and economic activity recorded in some communities.
