Zambian player in to participate in chess tournament

Luanda - The Zambian Amom Simutowe is already in the country to participate in the international tournament of chess named (Cuca BGI), starting on Saturday, in Luanda, an official source announced.


He is the first foreign players to arrive in the country to attend the tournament, said the secretary general of the federation, Abraão dos Reis, who added that other players may come by Saturday.


Other players are the great masters Tiviakov (Holland), Luis Galego (Portugal), as well as the international masters Wato Kobese (South Africa), Bowaz (Zimbabwe), Luis Brito (Brazil), and a French national. Eleven Angolan players will participate in the tourney.


Luis Galego is the winner of the last edition that took place in 2001.


The winner will get USD 5,000.
