Luanda - Cote d'Ivoire's international footballer Didier Drogba said Wednesday in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, that the organisation of the African Cup of Nations (CAN)2010, to be held in Angola, is an excellent opportunity for the country to show its potential.

The athlete made this statement during a meeting with the Angolan ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, Gilberto Buta Lutucuta, in the ambit of the athlete’s visit to Luanda, on 24 June.

The footballer will represent the foundation bearing his name, reads a press release from the Angolan diplomatic mission in Abidjan, delivered to ANGOP.

“ The sad image of the past which only portrayed the war has been left behind, now let's give our contribution so that the image of Angola in the world is improved, "stressed the athlete, at the service of  Chelsea club of England.

ANGOP has also learnt that the footballer will have a programme of activities which includes preparation of match between the Angolan national team and an African team made up of athletes who play in Europe.

The five-member delegation from Didier Drogba Foundation will also hold meetings with Angolan sports officials and work with the Lwini Foundation, concluded the source.
