CAN-2010 organising committee checks stadiums in Bengo

Caxito - Members of the local organising committee of the African Cup of Nations (Cocan) on Friday assessed in Caxito, nothern bengo province, the rehabilitation and construction of football fields, part of the dissemination and organisation of the continental competition, Angop has learnt.


The team, led by the co-ordinator of the competition in Bengo, Edson Macedo, also visited the works of Quinjanda football field, (Porto Quipiri), Açucareira Herois de Caxito, as well as got informed on the construction of Angola Jovem (Angola Youth) housing project designed for youngsters and the sports complexes, in Dande district.


He called on media organs to divulge works that aim at sensitizing and approaching the population to the organisation of this African event, so that CAN-2010 be a success for the country.


On his turn, the Director of Youth and Sports in Bengo, Ventura Neto, said the province has been creating conditions so that youngsters participate or watch direct or indirectly the games, mainly those ones of the national squad.


Giant television sets are being installed all over the province, he said.
