Luanda – The national senior females handball team on Friday defeated Britain by 31-24, in the fourth-round match of Group A, at London Olympic Games, but failed to get the pass to the quarter-finals.

Nair Almeida with (8 goals), Azenaide Carlos (6) and Marcelina Kiala (6) were the best scorers of the African champions, while Gerbron was the main scorer for Britain.

By half time, Angola were winning by 14-10.

With this result, the Angolan team won the first two points in the tournament, but the difference in the marker is insufficient to guarantee the presence in the quarter-finals.
