Angola face Russia in quarter-finals Friday

Luanda – The Angolan national senior males basketball team are facing Russia this Friday for the quarter finals of the pre-Olympic tournament in Caracas (Venezuela) which qualifies the first three ranged teams for the London2012 Olympics Games.

 

Angola finished second in standing with three points of the first phase ended Wednesday, won by Macedonian with the same points but with better balance (+18 against null Angola).

 

Russia was only the first of their group with wins in front of the Dominican Republic and South Korea.

 

Angola failed to qualify directly to the Olympic Games, after losing the final of Afrobasket2011, to Tunisia.
