Official sets Angolan goals in CPLP games in Portugal

Luanda - The National Director of Sports, Raimundo Ricardo, pointed out on Sunday in Luanda the maintenance or improvement of the third position of the general medal standings as one of the main objectives of Angola in the 7th Games of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP), set for 7-15 July in Mafra, Portugal.

Speaking to Angop at Luanda’s "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport before the departure of the Angolan delegation to Lisbon, the official said that the national athletes must redouble efforts to overcome the levels that were achieved in the previous editions.

In Mozambique (2010), Angola got three gold medals, eight silver ones and six bronze medals, which enabled the country to occupy the third position of the general standings.

The Angolan delegation is comprised by 113 people, among athletes, coaches, sports officials, referees and guests.

The 7th games of CPLP will counted on the participation of 800 athletes, under the age of 16, from the member states of the community, namely Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe and East Timor.
