Benguela – The senior ladies handball team of 1º de Agosto on Friday gave a 43-10 thrashing to Progresso club, at Acácias Rubras multi-purpose pavilion, in the first round of the group B of the 33rd edition of the national competition underway in the southern Benguela province.

 
On the same day, in the senior males' category, 1º de Agosto also beat the Angolan Navy's handball team by 30-21.

 
With this second consecutive victory, in what was the biggest thrashings recorded to date in the competition, 1º de Agosto’s ladies now have six points at the top of the standings table in the category.
