ASA runs chess qualifying tournament

 

Luanda – The “Atlético Sport Aviação” (ASA) club is running an internal chess tournament from May 14-16 in Luanda to qualify the best players for official competitions.

 

 
 
The tournament is being played in the Swiss system, nine rounds and 30-minute pace.

 

 
The fourth round of the competition was played on Tuesday with the following results: Bernardo Baptista beat José Sebastião, Manuel António lost to Graciano António, Miguel Lourenço defeated Tobias Nandjungo, Francisco Bernardo lost to Sebastião Mutuangombe, Manuel Militão beat Joaquim Assis, Francisco Almeida drew with Rosário Santos, while António José defeated António Sampaio.

 

 

 
Closing the round,  Almecenio Pereira lost to Mclaren Paulo and Carlos Pires lost to Joel João.

 

 

 
The fifth round is being played on Wednesday with the following fixture: Bernardo Baptista/Miguel Lourenço, Manuel António/Sebastião Muatangongo, Graciano  António/José Sebastião, Túbias Nandjungo/Manuel Militão, Francisco Almeida/Francisco Bernardo, António José/Almiselmo Pereira, Rosário Santos/Joel Santos, Carlos Pires/Joaquim Assis and Mclaren Paulo/Alberto Sampaio.
