Former striker blames technical options for country's failure

Luanda – The former captain of the national senior males football squad, Alcebiades Maieco “Akwá”, blamed Angola’s negative performance at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, happening in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, on coach Lito Vidigal’s choice.


Speaking at Angola National Radio sports channel, Akwa, the author of the goal which resulted in Angola’s qualification for the Germany 2006 World Cup, added that the coach summoned players that are out of shape for the competition, instead of giving opportunity to
those in good shape.


Reacting about Angola’s elimination, at the first phase of Africa Cup of Nations, Akwá stressed that the defender Lunguinha from kabuscorp do Palanca and the midfielder Geraldo, playing for Curitiba of Brazil, as being the main absences from the squad.
