US coach says players respected Angolan team

Istanbul - US basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has said that the good performance of his team against Angola was due to the respect they showed to the opponent during the game, for the eighth-finals of the World Cup taking place in Turkey, ANGOP has learnt.

 

After the 121-66 victory over the African team, the coach praised the posture of his players, by considering as determining the expressive score against Angola.

 

He said he recognises that Angola has dominated basketball in Africa, but even so he reaffirmed his team’s superiority in all aspects. He added that his team went into the field showing much respect for the opponent.

 

Meanwhile, the US point guard, Chancey Billups, had the same opinion and pointed out the defensive and offensive aggressiveness as one of the main causes of the triumph.

 

The player with the Denver Nuggets said they are in the competition to win all the games.
