Luanda - Angola will host on 13-29 November the 14th edition of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup in the cities of Lubango, Southern Huila province, and Benguela.
This was announced Wednesday in Luanda by the vice-president of the Angolan Federation of Football (FAF), António Mangueira, at a meeting that gathered the minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, and Cosafa members, led by the secretary general of the organization, the South African Madame Tsu.
The event aimed at discussing issues related to the organisation of competition, to be held in Angola for the first time.
According to the official, the Angolan government and COSAFA will share the costs of the 14 delegations that will be involved at the event.
Other organisational details will be discussed between FAF and COSAFA in the coming meetings.
He said that the country was awarded the right to host the event when the African Cup of Nations (CAN’2010), was underway in Angola.
Attending the session were vice-minister of Youth and Sports, Albino da Conceição, and vice-president of COSAFA, the Swazi Adam Mthetthwa.
Angola won COSAFA Cup in 1997 and 2001.
