Luanda– The ruling party’s women wing (OMA) paid homage on Monday, in Luanda, to the Angolan national senior female handball team, for the conquest of the tenth African title.
The event, which happened at the national headquarters of the ruling MPLA party, was led by the secretary-general of OMA, Luzia Inglês, and it was marked by the handing over of gifts and speeches delivery.
The ceremony was attended by the MPs of MPLA, as well as officials of OMA and Angolan Handball Federation (FAA).
On the occasion, the players were given some flowers and statuettes.
The players Elzira Tavares, Luísa Kiala, Lurdes Monteiro, Acilene Sebastião and the coach Paulo Pereira did not attend the ceremony for academic and professional reasons.
The African Cup of Nations in handball happened from 11 to 20 February 2010, in Egypt.
