Parliament speaker congratulates handball ladies on 10th African title

Luanda – The National Assembly speaker, António Paulo Kassoma, Monday in Luanda, congratulated the national women handball team on  winning their 10th African title on Saturday in Cairo, Egypt, after beating Tunisia 31-30 in the final.


In a press note that reached Angop on Monday, the top MP, on behalf of the National Assembly, congratulated the players, officials, coaches and other people, whose engagement once more covered with prestige the name of Angola with the victory.


“Our champions defended well our national colours in honour of stoicism of the Angolan people since peace was achieved”, reads the press release.


António Paulo Kassoma reiterated the achievement of peace as it has led to significant progress in the huge tasks of national reconstruction and country’s modernity.


The Angolan national women handball team returned home on Monday evening after winning the 10th African Cup of Nations, following their victory over Tunisia 31-30 on Saturday in Cairo.
