Ethiopian runner wins Luanda's yearend marathon

Luanda – The Ethiopian runner Ali Mohamed won the 54th edition of the yearend marathon dubbed "Saint Sylvester", held in the Angolan capital city, Luanda, with 28 minutes and 26 seconds.

 
During the 10-kilometre race, the foreign runners were better that the national athletes.


In females, the Kenyan athlete Grace Momany won the 54th edition of the 2009 yearend race of Luanda in this category with 31 minutes and 37 seconds.
 

Regarding the prizes, USD10.000 are for the winners in both categories, USD 8.000 for the runners-up, USD 6.000 for the third and USD 4.000 and USD 3.000 for the fourth and fifth placed, respectively.
