Luanda
Angola has conditions to become reference in kitesurfing

Luanda – Luanda Kitesurfing Association spokeswoman, Lisa Videira, stated that Angola has sufficient conditions to become in the next four years a world reference in this sport.

In an interview to ANGOP during the presentation ceremony of the First International Tournament, taking place in Luanda, the official justified that many national beaches have qualities and favourable characteristics to practise kitesurfing.

According to Lisa Videira, such qualities are heat, intense wind and warm water which are coupled with citizens’ interest in swimming, thus stimulating the development of the sports.

The kitesurfing association official said that six beaches were identified for regular competitions.

The four beaches are located in Luanda, Namibe and Benguela provinces, even though there are others along the 1, 600 kilometres of the Angolan coast.

Kitesurfing is practised in Angola since 2003.
