Chinese diplomat stresses importance of CAN

Luanda - The Chinese ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bolun, considered on Friday here that the holding of the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010) as an event of great prominence and international projection.


   
"Although it will only be played in four provinces, the CAN will enable Angola to obtain significant gains, taking into account the extent and magnificence of the competition", the Chinese diplomat said.


    Ambassador Bolun expressed the "great admiration" at the organisational level and dedication of Angolan sports officials. 


   
He referred that China is also contributing to the success of this competition, having praised the commitment of Chinese contractors in building the stadiums.


   
"Angola and China are not very good in football, but I wish success to the Angolan team during the competition", he concluded.


 
The CAN2010 will be held in the Angolan cities of Luanda, Benguela, Cabinda and Lubango, from next January 10 to 31.
