Football team get in touch with 11 de Novembro stadium

Luanda - Angola's national senior males football team players on Sunday had the first contact with the turf of the “11 de Novembro Stadium”, the venue of the opening match of the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2010) that Angola will host next January 10-31, ANGOP witnessed.

Coach Manuel José and his home-based players stepped for the first time on the lawn with the eyes set on January 10, 2010.

The Angolan team will only set foot on that turf again next January, as they are to carry out a training programme in Portugal’s Algarve region. The squad are expected back to the country on January 05.

Angola’s group in CAN2010 comprises Malawi, Algeria and Mali, the last one will face the host team in the opening game.
