Sports minister recognises engagement in Cup's opening ceremony arrangements

Luanda,  –  The Youths and Sports minister, Gonçalves Muandumba, recognised on Saturday in Luanda the commitment of the groups that are involved in the  rehearsals for the opening and closing ceremony of the African Football Cup of  Nations, also dubbed Orange-Angola2010, which Angola will host next January.

 

Speaking to the press at the end of the visit to the groups of Cidadela complex and Cacuaco  District, in his capacity as the deputy co-ordinator of the Monitoring Ministerial Commission of the Organising Committee of the African Nations Cup (COCAN), the official said that he  believes in a positive performance of the groups and he called for a strong engagement of  everyone in the final arrangements.

 

Accompanied by the Culture minister, Rosa Cruz e Silva, during the visit paid to the two rehearsal venues, Gonçalves Muandumba checked the aspects of work carried out everyday  by these groups, having left recommendations to the respective heads of groups for their  commitment.

 

About 8000 people are involved in the preparations of the opening ceremony to happen in  Luanda’s 11 de Novembro stadium.
