Luanda – The Angolan central defender, Carlos Alonso "Kaly", rescinded his contract with the French club, Arles-Avignon.
Angop learned that the Angolan player decided to cancel his deal with the French team as he was annoyed for being often impeded from joint the national team currently on a preparation programme in Portugal for the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN2010) that will take place on January 10-31.
According to the Portuguese newspaper “A Bola” (Angola’s edition), the player is now available to Angolan national team coach, Manuel José, to attend all sessions of training for the CAN2010 in the provinces of Cabinda, Benguela, Huila and Luanda.
"One day I said to my club manager that I wanted to represent my national team because I wanted to play in CAN. Now they are trying to block me, which is unacceptable for me, because when I signed the contract they knew that I had been called to the national team several times”, he said.
Kaly said that Arles Avignon coach had threatened him with showing that he was not happy with the situation but he decided not to accept this.
