Liberian former striker George Weah unavailable for CAN2010 draw

Luanda – The Liberian former football star, George Weah, said Monday in Luanda that he will not attend the draw for the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010) set to be held in Luanda on November 20.

Speaking to the Angolan Sports  Radio Station (Rádio 5), the former striker said that he won’t attend the draw due to professional reasons, though he had received the invitation.

George Weah is in Luanda since Sunday to attend the international conference on football that will take place in the Angolan capital, jointly organised by the weekly newspaper, “Novo Jornal” and the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), in the ambit of the CAN2010.

George Weah said it will be a pleasure for him to sponsor the balls for the CAN2010, should a request for that purpose be addressed to him by CAF or FAF.
