World football figures expected for international conference

Luanda - Three well known names of the world football will attend next week in Luanda an international conference jointly promoted by the weekly "Novo Jornal" and the Angolan Football Federation (FAF).

 

They are brazilian coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari (world champion for Brazil in 2002), Liberian George Weah (best world player in 1996) and retired Italian referee, Pierluigi Collina, who are expected to speak about their respective experiences.  

 

The director of "Novo Jornal", Victor Silva, said that the conference "football beyond the results" to take place on November 17 at the Futungo II Complex is under the framework of the African Nations Cup Orange-Angola 2010 and is aimed at promoting Angola worldwide.

 

According to Victor Silva teh event will be addressed by some angolan government officials as the youth and sports minister, Gonçalves Muandumba, planning minister, Ana Dias Lourenço, and Luanda province governor, Francisca Espírito Santo, who will speak on the importance of the african championship and the advantages of the competition to their portfolios.

 

He stated that the conference will combine the personal experience of  reknowned world football personalities and the vision of angolan sports leaders and politicians on the contribution of football to the country's development.


 
The meeting is also aimed at putting Angolain the route of world conferences despite of promoting a reflexion on the importance of the great sports event in the angolan society.

 

The african nations cup will take place from January 10 to 31 in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Cabinda and Huila.
