National basketball praised by FIFA official

Luanda - The evolution of the Angolan basketball was on Tuesday highlighted  by the head of the visiting team that is accompanying the tour of the football world cup trophy, being dubbed FIFA/Coca-Cola, ANGOP has learnt.

 

In a press conference, the Chadian Emanuel Barrada said that the Angolan Basketball  Federation (FAB) has been working for the growth of this sport in the country, taking into  account the results that have been produced in the sports fields. 

 

 "We have the example of José Carlos Guimarães and other mates that after ending their  career as athletes, left their places for younger athletes that have been giving sequence to this  great work", he praised.

 

The official also praised the competitions conquered by clubs and national teams at the level of  the continent and participations in international events, such as world championships and  Olympic games.
