Basketball federation invests in holding games outside Luanda

Lubango – The chairman of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Gustavo da Conceição, said last Saturday in Lubango City, in the southern Huíla Province, that his institution will henceforth organise national matches outside  Luanda to promote the development of this sport.


The sport official, who was speaking at the end of the “Vladimiro Romero” Super Cup, said that it is an in initiative of FAB aimed at exploring the existing sports infrastructures.


According to him, FAB will monthly hold in Huíla Province matches of the national championship, national and international tournaments, which will be promoted in order to make the existing infrastructures profitable.

 
Huíla Province hosted last Saturday the 2009 edition of the Super Cup, which was won by 1º de Agosto by beating Petro de Luanda by 108-102 in Lubango City’s Nossa Senhora do Monte pavilion.
