Luanda – The chairman of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAA), Pedro Godinho, said Tuesday in Luanda he believes the national team might come among the world’s 12 best.
Pedro Godinho was speaking to the press at the end of a meeting with members of the national team and coaches, saying the body he leads has created all working conditions.
He said it will be a hard task for the national team to repeat the feat of two years ago, at a time Angola is not counting on such of its stars as Ilda Bengue, Belina Larissa, Marcelina Kiala and others.
According to him, all will however depend on the developments in the second round of the competition, saying Angola must do its best to come within the 12 best, out of the 24 that qualified for the championship.
Meanwhile, the national team of handball will leave on November 18 for Spain for friendly games in Madrid with the teams of Japan, Slovenia and the host.
Angola is in group B of the world championship, along with Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Australia and Thailand, according to a draw held in Switzerland.
