Ambassador to Egypt publicises CAN2010

Cairo – The Angolan ambassador to Egypt, Pedro Hendrik Vaal Neto, Sunday in Cairo, summoned the local press to speak about the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN2010) the country will host in January.

On the occasion, the Angolan diplomat informed the Egyptian journalists about the latest developments associated with the preparations for the competition and its importance to Angola.

“Despite the international financial crisis, our country has had the capacity to push forward the organisation of the CAN2010, an event that will permit to accelerate the implementation of a project of rehabilitation and construction of new infrastructures”, he stated.

The diplomat said whatever result of the competition might be, what matters is the growing affirmation of the name of Angola concerning its undertaking capacity.

The occasion served for the presentation of a video on the new stadiums and the cities that will host the competition, which aroused the interest of the journalists that attended the press conference.

The celebrations of the national independence day, November 11, in Egypt, will mainly focus on the promotion and publicising of the CAN2010 that will take place in four Angolan cities, Luanda, Benguela, Lubango and Cabinda.
