Luanda – The trophy of the 2010 World Cup set for South Africa is since Sunday evening in Angola, where it will remain until November 5, as part of a tour of the continent that will host the competition.
The 36,8 centimetres tall trophy and 6,2 kilograms of weight, is made of eight carat of solid gold, being carried by a FIFA team on a tour sponsored by the multinational Coca-Cola company.
Receiving the trophy at the airport were the national director of Sports, Raimundo Ricardo, the chairman of the Angolan Football Federation, Justino Fernandes, and the Luanda governor, Francisca do Espírito Santos, including representatives of the Coca-Cola company, sponsoring the eve.
On Tuesday, according to the programme distributed by Coca-Cola, a press conference and photo session will be held, before the trophy is presented to the public the following day.
