Luanda – The Secretary of State for Science and Technology, João Sebastião Teta, said on Tuesday in Luanda that his institution continues to work so as to identify, register and provide necessary support to Angolan inventors and creators.
João Sebastião Teta said so while addressing the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the Angolan Inventors and Creators Fair, which is happened from 23 to 26 June at Luanda’s Independence Square.
He said that during four days, it was displayed several works in the sectors of electricity, electronics, computing, mechanics, physics and arts.
The official said that Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCT) is working on a programme, aiming for the holding fairs of this kind in the country’s inland province, so as to select the representatives of these regions in the national fair.
MESCT is working hard so that 5th edition, set for September 2013, may count on the participation of foreign inventors.
The event counted on the participation of institutions such as INEFOP, Sonangol, Tehcnical and Military High Institute, Angolan Methodist University, Tecno tronic System, Sistec, Soalarme and Golfo-Atlântico, among others.
This event aimed at developing a culture of creativity and innovation, which stimulates the development of technologies in Angola, as well as strengthens the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTI).
The fair was also intended to promote technological innovation, transfer of knowledge to the productive sector, competitiveness among the various actors of the SNCTI.
