Luanda – The minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira, last Saturday in Luanda opened the fourth edition of the Angolan Inventors and Creators Fair, which is happening from 23 to 26 June, in the Independence Square.
This event has the objective of developing a culture of creativity and innovation, which stimulates the development of technologies in Angola, as well as strengthens the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTI).
The fair is also intended to promote technological innovation, transfer of knowledge to the productive sector, competitiveness among the various actors of the SNCTI.
In this edition there are 44 exhibitors, representing public and private universities, secondary schools, non governmental organisations linked to information technologies, firms, as well as individual inventors and creators.
Delivering a speech at the opening of the fair Maria Cândida Teixeira said that from the statistical point of view, her sector registered from 2009 to 2012 126 inventors and creators (97 men and 29 women).
The 5th edition of the Angolan Inventors and Creators Fair is scheduled for September 2013.
