Geneva - Angola is still attending the World Conference on Radio communications taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, as the event enters the second week of its works, focussed on topics related to next generation technologies.
The conference began on January 23 and will run until February 17.
The meeting is reviewing the Radio communication regulations, an international treaty governing the use of the radio frequency (RF) and satellite orbits, with worldwide impacts both to political officials and regulators.
Other issues which are under review, include revision of the Regulations of Radio communications, due to rapid developments of information and communication technology (ICT) as well as the management of orbital positions of satellites and associated radio frequencies.
The operation of mobile broadband and other advanced technologies, use, digital dividend resulting from the transaction for digital television and development of ultra high-definition television, are also under discussion.
The Angolan delegation, led by permanent representative at United Nations Offices in Geneva, the ambassador Apolinário Correia, is integrated by chairperson of Administrative Council of National Institute of Communications Administrations (INACOM), Pedro Mendes de Carvalho, and technicians of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies.
