Luanda –The ministers of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Angola and of Portugal, Maria Cândida Teixeira and José Mariano Gago, signed Friday in Luanda a cooperation agreement for the development of higher education and promotion of scientific research.
The portuguese minister stressed the relaunching of the policy between the two countries for the development of higher education, which had had been made at individual levels, but under the new accord the programs of improvement of higher education instotutions in Angola will be systematic.
For the portuguese minister, the extension of higher education throughout the country should be faced as a good opportunity for Angola, for the region and the continent and also an opportunity for the future relations between Angola and Portugal.
The agreement, he said, will be implemented between higher education institutions of the two countries in the domains of scientific research and training of cadres with the exchange of academic visits between universities and politecnic institutions of the two countries.
For the angolan minister, the agreement will improve the quality of education in Angola and under it many angolans will graduate in Portugal and will also enhance cooperation in scientific research.
