Information Technology Centre gains legal status

Luanda – The Cabinet Council’s decree that sets up the National Centre of Information Technology (CNTI) has been published in the State Gazette 196 of October 2009 that reached Angop on Sunday.

The initiative took into account the CNTI status mainly concerning its obligation to create conditions for its transformation into a Public Institute, whose duties, powers, organic structure and functioning shall be defined in a proper diploma that will be approved by the Government soon.

Another factor took into account, according to the source, is the fact that the implementation of the Electronic Governance Action plan, of the Information Society and the Government Information Technologies Steering Plan require an executive structure with highly qualified manpower.

The same document revokes the National Commission on Information Technologies and assigns to the just established centre all references, regulations, contracts, administrative liabilities and others.
